Eclipse PSA: The red cross and emergency management groups in NH and VT are staging response units on Monday in the areas along highways where an influx of visitors are expected (in some places, 10,000 to 50,000 people). This is to assist local first responders in case cell phone networks are overloaded, or a serious highway accident occurs, or other unexpected mass incident.
If you are traveling up to northern New England to see the eclipse, BE PREPARED AND DON'T BECOME THE PROBLEM. Bring adequate food and water in case you get stuck in hours of traffic, your car breaks down, etc. Keep your phones charged. Have plans in case you have to detour off the highways. Make sure your car is ready for the trip, etc.
