TEWKSBURY — Chief Ryan Columbus reports that the Tewksbury Police Department arrested and charged a Burlington man on multiple charges, including trafficking cocaine.
ROBERT JONES, AGE 24, of BURLINGTON, was arrested and charged with:
Trafficking in 100 Grams or More of Cocaine
Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class C Drug
Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class D Drug
Possession of a Class C Drug
Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm
Possession of a Firearm Without an FID Card
Possession of Large-Capacity Feeding Device
Possession of Ammunition without an FID Card
Improper Storage of a Firearm
Improper Storage of Large-Capacity Firearm
JONES was arrested in Tewksbury on Wednesday, Aug. 19, as a result of an ongoing investigation by the Tewksbury Police Narcotics Unit, with the assistance of Chelmsford Police, Tyngsborough Police, Billerica Police, and the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office.
Subsequently, Tewksbury Police, with the assistance of Burlington Police, executed a search warrant at JONES’s apartment in Burlington. During the search, officers located a large sum of cash, 353 grams of marijuana, 165.6 grams of a white powdery substance determined to be cocaine, 128 grams of what was believed to be psilocybin mushrooms, and drug paraphernalia.
Officers also recovered two loaded handguns and ammunition.
JONES was arraigned in Lowell District Court on Aug. 20 and held on $10,000 bail.
