UPDATE ON YESTERDAY'S FATAL CRASH: DRACUT — Police Chief Peter Bartlett, Fire Chief Richard Patterson, and the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office report that the Dracut Police and Fire Departments responded on Saturday night to a fatal crash on Merrimack Avenue (Route 110). On Saturday, Jan. 20, at approximately 9 p.m., the Dracut Police and Fire Departments were called to the area of 1020 Merrimack Avenue (Route 110) for a report of a crash. First responders arrived to discover a four-vehicle crash, with multiple serious injuries. One individual was declared dead at the scene. First responders treated and transported eight other people to local hospitals. Merrimack Avenue was closed in the area for several hours. The crash is under investigation by the Dracut Police Department, with assistance from the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.
