Concord MA (via the Boston Globe): A Concord parent is under house arrest after being charged with threatening to harm the superintendent of the Concord-Carlisle Regional School District, according to court records and the Middlesex District Attorney’s office. John Grace, 53, was arraigned Tuesday in Concord District Court on charges of threatening to commit a crime and threats to use a weapon at a target, the district attorney’s office said. At a dangerousness hearing Wednesday, he was put on house arrest in the custody of his wife and was ordered to wear a GPS bracelet, according to court documents. Grace is accused of making threats against Superintendent Dr. Laurie Hunter after he called the school to request a meeting with her and was denied, according to his attorney, Jeffrey Higgins. ACTON — Chief Richard Burrows reports that the Acton Police Department has submitted an application for a criminal complaint for the charges of leaving scene of a crash causing personal injury, reckless operation of a motor vehicle and a crosswalk violation in connection with in a hit-and-run crash that left a juvenile with serious injuries. Acton Police have identified the alleged driver as an 85-year-old Maynard woman. The driver will not be identified at this time since the request remains pending. The individual’s name will be released if and when the criminal charges are issued by Concord District Court. On Wednesday, Nov. 2, at approximately 6:15 p.m., Acton Police and Fire were called to Great Road, in the area of Harris Street, for a report of a crash. First responders discovered a 13-year-old male suffering from serious injuries, and worked to treat that male and transport him to a Boston area trauma center. An intensive investigation collected video surveillance from nearby businesses to identify a vehicle of interest in the case, and Acton Police subsequently obtained a search warrant and seized that vehicle. The ongoing investigation has since identified the individual who was allegedly driving the vehicle at the time. Acton Police have been in contact with the family of the victim in an effort to keep them informed of the progress of investigators. “This has been an intense and lengthy investigation, but we were committed to identifying the driver in this case,” said Chief Burrows. “I want to thank the community and the victim’s family for their patience, and I commend our Acton Police investigators on their diligence and commitment to a difficult case.” More info: https://ift.tt/CbkHjuT

TYNGSBOROUGH — Chief Richard D. Howe reports that the Tyngsborough Police Department is investigating a theft from a bank ATM. On Thursday, Dec. 8, at approximately 3:15 a.m., Tyngsborough Police were notified by a 911 call about suspicious activity outside Enterprise Bank, 253 Middlesex Road. Responding officers saw a truck described by the caller leaving the area, and attempted to stop it on Middlesex Road as it fled toward New Hampshire. A brief pursuit was terminated due to excessive speeds. Further investigation at the bank determined that two or three suspects, wearing black face masks and driving a stolen truck, gained entry into a standalone ATM outside of the bank. Several containers holding cash were stolen. The truck involved in the brief pursuit was determined to have been stolen from a landscaping company in South Windsor, Conn. The truck was recovered in New Hampshire, though the cash was not recovered. Tyngsborough Police are releasing several surveillance photos of the theft in the hope that members of the public may be able to provide information. ACTON — Police Chief Richard Burrows and Fire Chief Robert Hart report that Acton Police and Fire responded to a hit-and-run crash involving a juvenile pedestrian on Great Road Wednesday evening. On Wednesday, Nov. 2, at approximately 6:15 p.m., Acton Police and Fire received a 911 call reporting a crash involving a pedestrian in the area of Great Road near Harris Street. First responders arrived to find the juvenile suffering from serious injuries, and provided immediate medical aid. The juvenile, believed to be 13 years old, was transported by an Acton Fire ambulance to the Wetherbee Street fields and then flown to a Boston-area hospital via medical helicopter. The initial on-scene investigation indicates that the juvenile was struck by a vehicle while crossing the street in the crosswalk. The vehicle involved fled the scene. It is described as a black sedan, possibly a Nissan. The crash remains under investigation by Acton Police, with assistance from the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section. Anyone with information on this incident, or information on the vehicle involved, is asked to call Acton Police at 978-264-9638. Howe reports that the Tyngsborough Police Department, as a result of a joint investigation conducted with the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Law Enforcement Division, arrested a Tyngsborough man on a warrant charging animal cruelty. ADEVALTER MAJESKY, AGE 50, OF TYNGSBOROUGH, was arrested on a warrant from Lowell District Court charging him with: Animal Cruelty Animal Cruelty by Custodian On Monday, Oct. 24, at approximately 3:30 p.m., Tyngsborough Police responded to 32 Willowdale Road to assist the MSPCA Law Enforcement Division with an investigation into a report of an injured pony. An investigation determined the pony noted in the initial report was okay, but while on scene at 32 Willowdale Road, MSPCA investigators and Tyngsborough Police saw in plain sight a thoroughbred horse that was injured and having trouble standing up. The MSPCA Law Enforcement department arranged for a veterinarian, as well as equine specialist from the MSPCA at Nevins Farm, who arrived on scene to evaluate the thoroughbred. The veterinarian determined the thoroughbred was suffering from sepsis and several severe injuries of various natures, and needed to be humanely euthanized immediately. The thoroughbred was humanely euthanized on scene and transported to The University of Connecticut for a necropsy. MAJESKY, who was already known to MSPCA investigators, was determined to be the owner and caretaker of the thoroughbred. On Wednesday, Oct. 26, as a result of the joint investigation, MSPCA Law Enforcement Officer Tia Devallon obtained a warrant for MAJESKY‘s arrest from Lowell District Court. Tyngsborough Police and MSPCA Law Enforcement took MAJESKY into custody on Wednesday afternoon. MSPCA Law Enforcement Chief Tom Grenham applauded the Tyngsborough Police Department for its help in the investigation. “This was the epitome of cooperation between two law enforcement departments and I thank Chief Howe and all of his officers,” said Chief Grenham. “I want to thank Tyngsborough Police Detectives and the MSPCA Law Enforcement Division for their thorough and diligent work on this case,” said Chief Howe.
