Concord MA (via the Boston Globe): A Concord parent is under house arrest after being charged with threatening to harm the superintendent of the Concord-Carlisle Regional School District, according to court records and the Middlesex District Attorney’s office. John Grace, 53, was arraigned Tuesday in Concord District Court on charges of threatening to commit a crime and threats to use a weapon at a target, the district attorney’s office said. At a dangerousness hearing Wednesday, he was put on house arrest in the custody of his wife and was ordered to wear a GPS bracelet, according to court documents. Grace is accused of making threats against Superintendent Dr. Laurie Hunter after he called the school to request a meeting with her and was denied, according to his attorney, Jeffrey Higgins. ACTON — Chief Richard Burrows reports that the Acton Police Department has submitted an application for a criminal complaint for the charges of leaving scene of a crash causing personal injury, reckless operation of a motor vehicle and a crosswalk violation in connection with in a hit-and-run crash that left a juvenile with serious injuries. Acton Police have identified the alleged driver as an 85-year-old Maynard woman. The driver will not be identified at this time since the request remains pending. The individual’s name will be released if and when the criminal charges are issued by Concord District Court. On Wednesday, Nov. 2, at approximately 6:15 p.m., Acton Police and Fire were called to Great Road, in the area of Harris Street, for a report of a crash. First responders discovered a 13-year-old male suffering from serious injuries, and worked to treat that male and transport him to a Boston area trauma center. An intensive investigation collected video surveillance from nearby businesses to identify a vehicle of interest in the case, and Acton Police subsequently obtained a search warrant and seized that vehicle. The ongoing investigation has since identified the individual who was allegedly driving the vehicle at the time. Acton Police have been in contact with the family of the victim in an effort to keep them informed of the progress of investigators. “This has been an intense and lengthy investigation, but we were committed to identifying the driver in this case,” said Chief Burrows. “I want to thank the community and the victim’s family for their patience, and I commend our Acton Police investigators on their diligence and commitment to a difficult case.” More info: https://ift.tt/CbkHjuT

TYNGSBOROUGH — Chief Richard D. Howe reports that the Tyngsborough Police Department is investigating a theft from a bank ATM. On Thursday, Dec. 8, at approximately 3:15 a.m., Tyngsborough Police were notified by a 911 call about suspicious activity outside Enterprise Bank, 253 Middlesex Road. Responding officers saw a truck described by the caller leaving the area, and attempted to stop it on Middlesex Road as it fled toward New Hampshire. A brief pursuit was terminated due to excessive speeds. Further investigation at the bank determined that two or three suspects, wearing black face masks and driving a stolen truck, gained entry into a standalone ATM outside of the bank. Several containers holding cash were stolen. The truck involved in the brief pursuit was determined to have been stolen from a landscaping company in South Windsor, Conn. The truck was recovered in New Hampshire, though the cash was not recovered. Tyngsborough Police are releasing several surveillance photos of the theft in the hope that members of the public may be able to provide information.
