⚠️ PSA: Police in Medway and Worcester say Massachusetts has seen an uptick in "distraction" house break-ins over the past few weeks. Read more here & alert your elderly neighbors and family members. Distraction break-ins are usually done by thieves posing as contractors, utility personnel, or other roles that fo a homeowner into letting them into the home, so one of the crew can talk with the homeowner while the other people in the crew crawl the house for valuables. Please be situationally aware, and talk to your older relatives and neighbors, when your doorbell rings. ❗ Don't let unknown people into your house unless you had a scheduled appointment ❗Demand to see a solicitation permit for any one going door to door. ❗Real utility personnel never need to see your bill or account info in person ❗ it's okay to call your local PD if a stranger is at your door and you don't feel safe.
