Miranda Warning System: CHELMSFORD — Chief Colin Spence reports that the Chelmsford Police Department responded late Monday night to a fatal crash on Westford Street. On Monday, June 9, at approximately 11 p.m., Chelmsford Police and Fire Departments were called to the area of 160 Westford St., for a report of a crash. First responders arrived to discover a single-vehicle crash in which a pickup truck left the road and struck a tree. There were no passengers in the vehicle. The driver, identified as Ronald Wetmore, 61, of Chelmsford, was transported to Lowell General Hospital/Main Campus, where he was pronounced dead. The crash remains under investigation by the Chelmsford Police Department and State Police detectives attached to the Middlesex District Attorney's Office.
