Well, kids, you're in for a treat, because I've copied the explanation here for all to see: The Rickard Vortex is named after famed South Chelmsford raconteur and bon vivant Andy Rickard , who controls a magical force field around his house that repels much needed precipitation. In prior years the vortex was small and only affected south Chelmsford, but it has grown in power and size, much like Andy's ego, and now can successfully dampen (get it?) any incoming rain storm before it nourishes our yards and gardens.
